Bozdo warns: The opposition will continue its action on all fronts

Democratic Party MP Eno Bozdo declared a few minutes before the protest that the opposition will continue its efforts in every direction, including parliament, the field, and communication with citizens.

He emphasized that during the week the opposition has raised issues of concern to citizens in parliament, such as the price of oil, while also holding meetings with interest groups.

According to him, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has also been in the field, specifically in Berat, where he met with farmers about their problems.

Bozdo stated that the main goal remains the removal of the government and that the opposition action will not stop until Prime Minister Edi Rama resigns.

Commenting on the effect of the protests, he acknowledged that they alone may not be enough, but considered them part of a broader strategy that includes preparation for local elections and ongoing engagement with citizens.

According to Bozdo, the opposition has gained more support in public opinion compared to a year ago, while adding that even internationals, according to him, refer to the opposition regarding the situation in the country.

He raised concerns about corruption and the progress of European integration, claiming that the process has stalled and may face harsher conditions in the future.

"We continue our opposition efforts on all fronts. You saw us yesterday, I believe, in parliament, in an equally long session. We have raised during this week the issues that concern Albanians, as well as meetings with stakeholders on the issue of the price of oil. Mr. Berisha was in Berat two days ago, meeting with farmers about their problems and concerns. The communication of the Democratic Party continues on every front.

It is important to raise the Albanians and this government must leave as soon as possible. The opposition's action, which extends in all ways and with all instruments, will not stop until Edi Rama resigns. This is what we can say. This is a further step towards our objective.

Look, to answer this question, which is more or less a question that has an answer, many are skeptical about whether the protests are worth it or not. But don't look at the protests in isolation from all the other opposition action of the Democratic Party. We have gone out into the field, talked to people, prepared for local elections, held meetings with citizens to explain the situation, maintained public communication and made our stand in parliament.

Protest is one of the instruments that we are using at this time. Will protests be enough? Maybe protests in themselves are not enough. But this effort, of course, will be successful. I believe that, if you compare what Albania was a year ago and the role that the opposition plays today, the opposition today has turned public opinion towards it for solutions.

Public opinion today looks at the opposition and has the right to demand more and better from it. First. International opinion refers entirely to the opposition. We have international documents that prove unequivocally that Albania is criminalized, the government is criminalized, corruption is wreaking havoc everywhere and that Albanians cannot continue under this regime.

"You see, despite the Prime Minister's rhetoric, the path of integration, unfortunately, has also stalled. It has stalled and I have the impression that the conditions will be increasingly difficult, a repeat of 2015–2016. So, we are doing our duty and we will continue. This is our pace and this is the path we have chosen," said Bozdo./ CNA
