Berisha: I will not dissolve SPAK, I will seek advice from the Venice Commission

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, invited to an interview on MCN TV, focused on his previous statements about the merger of SPAK.

Berisha said he never intended to abolish the Special Prosecution Office, but there should be institutional control. The DP leader said he will join the votes with the Venice Commission for an expertise.

Berisha said that 62% of the population is in detention. Meanwhile, we recall that out of the total of 2791, the number of people in detention investigated by SPAK is 270 people or 9.7%.

 

" I have never had in mind the annihilation of an important institution. We lived in a dictatorship and in a dictatorship the prosecution punished political crimes but also ordinary crimes. What is unacceptable? First of all, this prosecution has no control, no one controls this. I am talking about institutional control. This prosecution checks the phones of judges, who sends the files.
