"Be part of the change"/ Topalli: Diaspora vote envelopes are hope for

The political delegate for the Diaspora in the Democratic Party, Jozefina Topalli, today emphasized the role of the diaspora vote in the parliamentary elections of May 11. This is the first time that Albanians living abroad will be able to vote by mail.

In a statement to the media, Topalli said that the returned envelopes with votes are a very positive sign in expressing responsibility and the return of the diaspora to an important political factor.

Topalli said that the envelopes that arrive in Albania are not just envelopes, but are hope for May 11th.

"I am here before you today for three main reasons.

First of all, to thank the wonderful diaspora and the envelopes that are being returned to Albania, which seem to be making a big difference. While Albania is on its feet, the large number of envelopes that are coming is truly surprising and a very positive sign in expressing the responsibility and return of the diaspora to an important political factor.

Second, I want to say that the number of envelopes returned from Italy is about 62 thousand, the number coming from Greece is 22 thousand, the number of envelopes coming from the USA is 14 thousand, 10 thousand from the UK, and the same from other countries.

In fact, the envelopes that arrive in Albania are not just envelopes, but are hopes for May 11th.

On the other hand, I would like to invite all those who have not yet filled out their ballot or submitted their envelope to do so as soon as possible.

Third, those who were unable to register and who live outside the borders of Albania have an opportunity, and I invite them to make one last sacrifice, to get the tickets, or the cars, so that by the end of next week they can be in Albania, and be part of the great change in their homeland.

Finally, during this time we have monitored, followed, and had reports from various countries, mainly from Greece, where several important problems have been identified.

I invite all Albanians living there to inform us of any irregularities they may have noticed. We will follow them up immediately and responsibly.

Meanwhile, a special thank you to all Albanians wherever they are, in Greece, Italy, Germany, America, Brussels, for their vote, for the responsibility they are showing and for the hope they are bringing through their envelopes, which have become a true tsunami of change for Albania", declared Topalli. /CNA
