Lulzim Basha will not issue a candidate for the Municipality of Kukes in the September 24 elections.

This was announced by the Democratic Party of Basha itself, which issued a statement on social networks, where it accused the democrats.

Basha's Democratic Party justified itself with the pretext that "there will not be a 'second beam' of defeat, to the detriment of the democrats and citizens of Kuksia".

But just a few minutes after issuing its position, Basha's DP deleted the statement and issued another excuse for the failure to find a dignified candidate for Kukës.

The second version of Basha is insufficient time to reorganize the party branch in Kukës.

" Dega Kukës Democratic Party, following with high political and moral responsibility the situation created in Kukës, after discussions and consultations with the members and leadership structures of the Kukës Democratic Party; considering that the interest of the democrats and all the citizens of Kukes who want change is the overthrow of the government, in the conditions of short and insufficient time to reorganize the party branch after the extremely negative consequences of the spirit of conflict unjustly ignited among the democrats, we think that now is the time to first focus on the revival of the branch of the Democratic Party, the creation of the alternative that the citizens of Kukës are waiting for and the battle for the overthrow of this government, which is impoverishing Albanians more and more every day.

For this reason, we will not propose a candidate for the elections for the Municipality of Kukës.

The Dega Kukës Democratic Party stands strongly in defense of the interests of Kukës, in their support. Kuksians deserve an alternative that will serve them and not races predetermined by the oligarchs at the expense of the democrats ," the statement said.

The fact remains that Basha could not secure a candidate for the September 24 elections in Kukës, just as he failed to find 61 candidates for the May 14 elections./ CNA
