The Mayor of Malësi e Madhe, Tonin Marinaj, has reacted to the Democratic Party's request for his investigation, accusing him of being the leader of a criminal organization.

Through a status on social networks, Marinaj denies the accusations leveled against him.

According to him, the DP's accusations are a weak "script", written or inspired by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

He declares that he is open to any institution such as the CEC, the prosecutor's office, the HSC or SPAK to examine any claim raised.

Dear residents of the Great Highlands!

Today, like most of you, I was surprised by a statement from the offices of one of the many DPs in circulation.

I wasn't too surprised at the continuation of the waltz of shame of slander neither towards me, nor towards the institution they intend to pollute, nor towards the Malësi e Madhe, who, my fellow mountaineers, have been proving for years that they don't want it. Or that they put their interests before the interests of the highlanders of our Highlands.

I was surprised by the weak "script", written or inspired by some window, "script" which also reveals the purpose for which it was invented. Next year, there are elections and Malësia e Madhe and the highlanders will vote for their government, of course to reconfirm this majority and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

This, based on what has been done, is being done and will be done for our country, which was never realized from 1990 to 2015.

With the greatest disgust and contempt, I reject not only this shameful, unbelievable and ridiculous "scenario" but every attack and fabricated accusation against me, the Municipality of Malësi e Madhe and my fellow mountaineers.

I am open to any institution such as the CEC, the prosecutor's office, the HSC, SPAK or any other organization, local and foreign, to examine any information in my direction. I offer my maximum cooperation to facilitate his work with a single goal: All the truths come out and the promiscuous mouth of slander is closed to every person, whether or not a member or leader of one of the DPs.
