Not voting is complicity and surrender.

Not voting is complicity and surrender.

In Vlora, a very low turnout is expected in tomorrow's by-elections.
Vlora has always been characterized by an indifference of citizens to participate in the local election process (in 2023 it was around 25%, before it was even worse, but the figures have been manipulated and inflated.)

Citizens feel disappointed and do not go to exercise their democratic right to vote, thus allowing the government's "minority majority" to decide their fate.

But not voting is neither "disappointment", nor "boycott", nor "rejection of the system", it is complicity and surrender.

It is the signature beneath every injustice you have mentioned angrily in the coffee shop, every lie you have cursed online, every arrogance you have seen and remained silent about and not punished, preserving the status quo of the system.

When we don't vote, we don't stay out of the game. We hand the game over to the minority who know how to play it better than us: with interest, with clientelism, with bargaining.

And that minority, small but active, is the one that governs you. You only suffer, and in the end, you belie yourself when you say “everyone is the same.”
No, they are not! But you, by not voting, make them look the same.

Vlora, which once represented the courage of independence, today must represent the courage of reaction.

Voting is an act of rebellion in a system that meticulously calculates our apathy. When you don't vote, you make the government feel at ease. When you vote, you shock it. It forces it to count on you too.

When you go out to vote, it also makes the opposition more responsible, which must have a winning strategy, come up with serious candidates, rise above itself and not be divided, be a real alternative and not contribute to general apathy and disappointment!

The vote should not be seen as "a piece of paper" that has no weight.

It is the last weapon that has not yet been taken from us. And if we throw away this weapon and raise our hands in surrender, then we will no longer complain about the roads, about the water, about arrogance, about injustice. Because we have signed the silence.

Indeed, what message does the denial, the assignment, the rejection of the highest democratic right send? Indifference to tomorrow? Conscious apolitical emptiness. Or a solution, which shows respect for itself? What message does this attitude send from a country that has suffered, tired, that has lived through dictatorship, betrayal, national division and an unparalleled political hostility between people?
After all, who are we condemning besides ourselves, if we do not go to vote?

To declare oneself as dissatisfied, disappointed, demoralized by the system, to call oneself “politically indifferent” and to wait for “change” while hiding behind the most antidemocratic option: refusing to vote. Because even those who stay away from the ballot boxes make a choice. They line up and silently support the system.

Thus, they weaken us all... The system, democracy, the value of the vote. Investment in the future and hope for change! In any case, no one escapes responsibility for what the ballot box will bring out!

In the Vlora elections, every citizen who does not vote says YES to the status quo. While every citizen who votes, no matter how they vote and for which candidate they vote, says NO!

Voting is rebellion!
Not voting is submission!
Choose for yourself which side you are on.
