Nothing new from the lists!

The party's candidate lists for MPs were published! Nothing we didn't know and nothing we hadn't predicted was denied.

Both from the socialist camp and from the democrats.
In fact, today all our predictions were confirmed, which gave Rama a fourth term despite 12 years in power, after a worn-out and corrupt government, despite half of the cabinet behind bars or under investigation.

As the prediction was also confirmed, the DP is on its worst day, due to the lack of strategy, or more precisely, the strategy that its leader in the opposition and himself, the leader of the "opposition" monopoly, wanted.

Anyone who saw the DP leadership meeting today, where Berisha was flanked by Vokshi and Noka, who have wreaked havoc by manipulating votes in the DP processes, understood how the situation would turn out.

It only remained to be seen what the final lists would be like; who would be disappointed, who would leave permanently, or what positions the MPs would have, who joined Berisha in recent months and who "made up" with him, simply for a seat in parliament. Because they "fought" for a seat in parliament last year.

Even though they "united in diversity", they went where the majority of democrats were; they spoke in the name of oppositionism, principles, democracy and other beautiful terms. Even though they burned chairs and "clashed" with the guard, lit flares, burned and overturned chairs and threatened a revolution that never started...

Once again, Berisha used, abused and discarded them; he lied to them, mocked them and trampled on them, sending them in search of votes with the almost extinguished hope that they could enter the new parliament, despite the fact that at the end of the year they had twisted their waists dancing to his song...

And it's not a big loss that the MPs who went from insulting Berisha to licking their lips and demonstrating loyalty are no longer in parliament...

Berisha has never been interested in victory. He has only been interested in a party-bunker of his interests, a comfortable position in the opposition, a calcified opposition, with over-tested, over-used, but loyal figures.

Therefore, today's lists were a confrontation of two strategies.

Of Rama's winning strategy, who replaced the old guard and brought it to the open list to maximize votes and increase the number of mandates, and of Berisha's strategy to maintain a wrinkled opposition, but blindly loyal to him. And this strategy of Berisha and his loyalists is a losing, defeatist and not at all electoral strategy.

The request to be on the "safe lists" of all the deputies loyal to him, who were rewarded, and the request of the "supporters" of Gaz Bardhi, who were scattered on the open and not at all safe lists, shows that none of them believes in the victory of the DP and that the calculations have only made one seat in parliament because none of them dares to be on the open list to collect votes with the weight and political experience they have. In this context, the rush, insistence and pressure to be sure of their mandate in the next parliament proves that the DP is starting the electoral race of May 11 in the wrong way.

Typical loser mentality, typical minority mentality.
And Berisha is trying to show Albanians that he can make a new wardrobe with old suits, to be innovative with the same names here and there for 25-30 years, to make it seem like the DP has been renewed and re-established with the same chronic losers, to be eloquent with the same rhetoric as the first 30 years, to surround himself with the same people, but now older and fewer in number and more out of date...

In fact, the same people are being presented to Albanians, but without offering anything new, those people who had the power to make Albania and were unable to do so, because they will solve the problem with those people, who are the problem themselves.

And the Democrats, who have been waiting for victory for 12 years, will see a fourth term for Rama, a shrinking of the DP, which will hardly recover and rise again...

Perhaps the time has come for the DP to lower the curtain and accept the end of being a party that can ever govern Albania.

Perhaps we all have to accept, with pain, that the DP has closed its political life cycle./ CNA
