Veliaj, the victim of the boss, not of "Qeros"

Veliaj, the victim of the boss, not of "Qeros"

Those who multiply Erion's attacks on a particular prosecutor, more than the dismantling of a process, cry over the cash they expected to multiply in the days of the campaign.

It is striking how Erjon Velija's public behavior after his arrest constitutes the perfect synthesis of his entire political career. Small and poor, without axis and without stance, based on whims and not on solid arguments. Complexed by the shadow of the boss and the fear of being without power, the defense that Velija is making for himself seems as miserable as his entire journey in politics. In a sense, leaving aside what he represents, the deformation of the human being causes pity.

The acting Mayor, in the process against him, has tried to show his teeth, which never managed to bite, but in his inability and helplessness to deal with the "new justice" system, he has chosen to target a single prosecutor. From here, his battle becomes petty, worthless and untrue. Erjon Veliaj, known for his dignity, has been severely insulted by the vocabulary of prosecutor Olsi Dado in the courtroom and this is used as an argument for an unfair process. Then he chooses to deal with the prosecutor's skull, his passion for the violin, his grades in school and his friends in life, putting himself in the banal role of the missing stranger, instead of raising the process against him to the level of a clash with the alleged injustice of the system.

This path that he has chosen or has been suggested to him is the worst defense that Veliaj can make for himself. Because even in the crucial moments of his career and personal life, he is proving himself untruthful. Veliaj talks about Olsi Dado but does not dare to mention Altin Dumani, he mentions the prosecutors, but not the prosecution. But is his imprisonment the will of a single man? Veliaj becomes unbelievable even when he compares the process against him with the methods of state security, while a short time ago he had highly praised his "colleagues from SPAK" and had promised them full cooperation, he was so impressed by their professionalism.

Rama's former dolphin, by the force of years of propaganda, has lost the ability to be real. He is behaving again as if he is in front of the cameras and as if the version he will sell to the public is the one that will be assembled by his people, while in real life he risks years of imprisonment if the SPAK accusations remain in force. This is not a ready-made television chronicle. Instead of Ols Kafka or Ols Violina musings, Veliaj should deal with the accusations against him one by one, fight the process and not the prosecutor. Try to get to the core of the problem and not to the media effects at least once in his life.

If he manages to understand that this time he is not fighting for votes but for his freedom, Veliaj will be able to see that the circle he has put himself in makes no sense. Those who multiply his attacks on a particular prosecutor, more than the dismantling of a process, are crying for the cash they expected to multiply in the days of the campaign. Veliaj's fate as an individual is of no value to those who have considered him simply as the municipality's fattened cow, who milked him periodically.

Even Rama's "boredness" with the SPAK boys, what consolation can it be for Veliaj when he had long ago begun his dismantling. He removed the reins of Tirana's political leadership, beat him up at assembly and leadership meetings, erased him from photos and eliminated him from joint public appearances, asked him not to deal with the elections but with cleaning up the city... Were these clear signs of the inevitable end of the contender for the throne?

Erjon Velija, who throughout his career never dared to face the truth, even within the cage of the court, seeks not to see these facts and to attribute his fate to a single prosecutor. He does not talk about the immediate devaluation that the prime minister gave him or the blows he received within the organization, as the clearest warning of what awaited him. He avoids these as someone who believes that if he does not mention the facts, they do not exist. His fate seems to be that of a man who is heading towards his own end, as punishment not only for what he has done but also for who he is. Without ever being able to show his "steel" ones or face the truth. So far, this is the greatest but also the most worthless "self-sacrifice" in the high dome of Rilindja. At least he went as a sacrifice for the boss and not for "Qeros"./ Lapsi.al
