From propaganda on the screen to poison on the plate

If you were to watch or listen to the national television news tonight, in addition to the usual parade of political chronicles, where every statement and joke of the prime minister took center stage, the last minutes reserved a bitter “surprise”!
After the “poisonous” news of the day; politics, inspections, SPAK and the next successes, before the “world” column, a truly poisonous news was given.

But why is this news, which speaks about the health and food safety of thousands of people, including journalists and editors, why is this news that affects children, parents and the entire society, treated in the end as a chronicle with “Ronaldo’s goals?”

The case of the Gorica mandarins is not just a criminal incident. It shows a long chain of institutional failures, a corrupt system and a total lack of transparency towards the public. The inspector who issues fictitious certificates, the authorities who hide the truth, and the media who make news of the type: "my mother made me shut up."

In a country where food scandals, air pollution, water pollution, and political corruption are commonplace, the media has a great responsibility. Faced with news that affects health, every television station or portal should raise its voice to the sky.

But for a long time, television has been transformed from a window to see the world into a curtain that hides the truth. Viewers will continue to be poisoned, not only by contaminated tangerines, but also by the propaganda that fills the screens.
Only this time, without knowing it, the journalists and editors themselves are also poisoning themselves and their families.
