The event that dominated the internet yesterday was some ugly footage of a group of young men mercilessly beating up a fellow teenager. But even uglier was the indifference of those vehicles in the line behind them, watching. They could have protested by honking their horns loudly, they could have called the police, they could have even gotten out of their cars if the drivers were really men, but no one did.
Such social indifference only happens in third world countries. And even more ugly was the logic in those few studies where it was even mentioned, why don't such things happen in foreign countries? In Albania it has already become a means of justification, a way of easing up to get out of the loop and to justify ourselves that what happens somewhere else is normal here too. We have this right, to beat ourselves up too. Those plastic drums were smashed over the head of a living slave, regardless of the reason, regardless of the Albanian postulate why are you looking at me?
Again, the show was pleasing to the audience. The problem in Albania is no longer the death of decency, social respect, human rights, but how and how to humiliate each other as low as possible. And this has its own reasons and they are numerous. However, sociologists occupy a place on the periphery of public programs because of the adrenaline that flows from politics. And our social death has begun right there with high school students, who today no longer have ideals but enjoy the supremacy of violence. This is all because of the death of the power of education. No matter how much we collectively blow on social networks about respecting the figure of the teacher, the truth is different, we have hung the teacher as a figure on a rope, while we have shot the teacher.
The fault is collective, from the parent, from the state but also from the teacher himself. From the parent after agreeing and giving money to get the diploma or to get the child a job. From the state yes and yes, after filling the offices with party bureaucrats, so that today regardless of stature, people come out and make public protests in favor of the former boss. From the teacher, after the majority of lecturers have increased who, for a lamb lunch, for a handful of euros, sign the booklets without any worries. The corridors of the faculties have been choked with politics to the point that today secretaries wreak havoc whether out of convictions, or as realtors, or as educational consultants.
It is the same in healthcare, and in state power, where the old excuse that I have children to feed is today the total public surrender of the Albanian. And above all, the most murderous link of Albanians in democracy is politics, where only in Albania do people consider or conceive of their adherence there, just like mercenaries, as their profession. In conclusion, we beat because other countries beat us too. We steal because they stole before us. Enough of our justifications. That's it. God knows the rest./CNA
