The second day of the trial for the former leaders of the KLA ends/ The defense

The defense teams of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selim have completed their closing statements, while on April 5, the defense team of Jakup Krasniqi is expected to declare as well.

During the second day of the trial, the two accused addressed the jury: Hashim Thaçi and Rexhep Selimi.

The defense of Hashim Thaçi said that their client did not have commanding power over the KLA, nor did he exercise effective power as prime minister of the Provisional Government.

The defense of Kadri Veseli said that there is no evidence or witnesses against him that connects him to the crimes alleged in the indictment.

According to the defense of Rexhep Selim, there are no hints in the indictment that he ordered any alleged crime.

During the speech before the jury, the former superior of the KLA, Hashim Thaçi, said that he felt sorry for all the victims and again declared his innocence.

Thaçi said that this trial has exonerated him, the KLA and the people of Kosovo with the allegations of organ trafficking. The
former superior of the KLA, Rexhep Selimi, during his speech before the court, said that he is not afraid of justice, but " We should all be afraid of injustice", expressing the belief that at the end of the judicial process, his innocence will be proven. /REL
