4 years ago the legendary actor Xhevdet Ferri died.

He passed away prematurely at the age of 59 after losing his battle with a serious illness.

Xhevdet Ferri has left a big mark on Albanian cinematography.

The Durrsak actor and his wife Rozeta Ferri have played in many films. Some of them are "And one day comes", "Years of waiting" and "Gjoleka, son of Abazi?"

For the first time in a film, the actor took part when he was still a student.

He graduated in 1982 from the Academy of Dramatic Arts and then stayed as an acting teacher at this Academy.

Xhevdet Ferri continued his academic career to the position of Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Art at this Academy.

During his life, he performed about 30 roles in cinematography and theater. He performed a few roles in the theater, but he achieved his greatest success as an actor in feature films with about 13 roles.

In almost all the films he has been in the role of the protagonist, he debuted in 1980 in "Sketerrë '43" as Arjani and that same year in "Vëllezr ed shoke" catching the eye for the role of Marko.

5 years later in 1985 he became known with the interpretation of the role of Agron in his second film "Shadows that remain behind". With his portrayal of Gori in the film "And one day comes" he received the medallion of the festival in 1986. Ferri distinguished her for a special acting individuality.

Other outstanding roles for the actor are: Pali in "Besa e koshe" (1982); Sandri in "Decision" (1984); Brave in "Tale from the Past" (1987); Martin in "The Train Leaves at 7 to Five" (1988); Gjon Kadri in "The Waiting Years" (1990); Sako in "Sako's Wedding" (1998).

From 1995-1999 he was the director of the National Center of Cinematography, taking this post again in 2006. While in the years 1999-2001 he was the director of the National Theatre. He specialized in the field of "Management of Artistic Institutions" in Amsterdam and Oxford.
