Transporting 19 bags of contraband clothing/ 26-year-old arrested

Police have cracked a case of smuggling goods and arrested a 26-year-old man.

RK, 26, was arrested. During a search of the van he was driving, 19 bags of various imitation clothing were found unaccompanied by the relevant documentation.

The clothes found and the van were seized as evidence.

Tirana/The operation codenamed "Wrong Way" is finalized, a case in the field of goods smuggling is cracked. 

He was transporting various suspected smuggled clothing worth around 45,000 euros in a van. He was caught red-handed on the "Elbasan-Tirana" road and the 26-year-old was arrested.        

The clothes and the van are seized.      

Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section of the Tirana Police Department, in continuation of their work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activity in the field of goods smuggling, based on information obtained through operational channels, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Wrong Way". 

As a result of this operation, citizen RK, 26 years old, resident of Korça, was arrested. 

This citizen was caught red-handed by the Police services, on the "Elbasan-Tirana" road axis, transporting 19 packages (bags) of imitation clothing of various brands, without accompanying documentation, in a van.

Investigations are ongoing to document this illegal activity and identify other citizens who may be involved.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
