Sold agricultural products by changing the expiration date/ 35-year-old man

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the capital's police for selling expired agricultural products. The products were found in a factory in Fushë-Krujë. Investigations suspect that ED has sold a significant amount of agricultural products for plant protection, the expiration date of which has been extended by 1 year beyond that approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The operation was carried out by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section, in cooperation with the National Food Authority (AKU).

A 35-year-old man was arrested for selling expired agricultural products.

In this citizen's warehouse, in Fushë Krujë, a considerable amount of agricultural products was found, to which this citizen had extended the expiration date by placing new labels.

In implementation of the plan of measures for controls in various entities, with the aim of preventing the trading of expired food and agricultural products, the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section, in cooperation with the AKU, organized and finalized, under the direction of the Prosecution, the police operation codenamed "Expiration".

As a result of this operation, citizen ED, 35 years old, resident of the village of Krutje, Lushnje, was arrested.

Investigations suspect that this citizen sold a significant amount of agricultural plant protection products, the expiration date of which was extended by 1 year beyond that approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the inspection carried out in collaboration with AKU employees, in this citizen's warehouse in Fushë Krujë, a considerable amount of agricultural products was found, with a shelf life of 2 years from the year of production, to which this citizen had attached labels indicating a shelf life of 3 years from the date of production.

Also, the Police services seized, as material evidence, hundreds of adhesive labels on which the expiration date for agricultural products had been changed.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, for further action./ CNA
