Tried to kill grandfather with a knife and tried to escape/ 35-year-old arrested

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by the Korça Police after he is accused of attempting to kill his grandfather with a knife. V.Sh. was arrested in Kapshtica, attempting to cross the border illegally.

This person is accused of attempted "Murder due to family relations" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons". He shot his grandfather several times with a knife.

A 35-year-old wanted man, who allegedly attempted to kill his grandfather with a knife on 04.10.2025, was arrested and handcuffed after attempting to cross the border illegally.    

Following the intensive work of the services of the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration, with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes and apprehending wanted citizens, the Green Border services at the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point, in the village of Vërnik, Devoll, apprehended citizen V. Sh., who was attempting to cross the border, in violation of the law. 

Following the actions, specialists from the Serious Crimes Against the Person Investigation Section executed the arrest warrant issued by the Korça Prosecution Office for citizen V. Sh., 35 years old, resident of Bilisht, for the criminal offenses "Murder due to family relations" still under investigation and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons". This citizen is suspected of having stabbed his grandfather several times on 04.10.2025./ CNA
