Participation in a criminal organization and theft/ Three wanted persons

Three wanted citizens have been arrested by the Border Police at the Morina crossing point, as a result of increased controls to crack down on illegalities and detain persons attempting to evade justice.

In cooperation with the Kukes Local Police Directorate, border services arrested two internationally wanted persons at the entrance to Albania:

A 65-year-old man with the initials MG, resident of Kosovo, was detained with the aim of extradition to Germany. He was wanted by Interpol Wiesbaden, after being sentenced by the Frankfurt Court to 4 years and 1 month in prison for theft and participation in a criminal organization. He still has 18 months left to serve.

Also arrested was 47-year-old Xh. S., a resident of Pristina, wanted by the authorities in Kuwait for the criminal offense of "aggravated theft." Extradition procedures are continuing in this case in cooperation with Interpol.

Meanwhile, the Police also detained another citizen, 36-year-old RP, who was declared a national wanted person. He had been sentenced by the Tirana Court to 4 years in prison for "aiding illegal border crossing."
