Operation 'Daku' in Italy/ 28 people arrested for drug trafficking, most of them Albanians

Italian police executed 28 arrests, following an investigation coordinated by the Trento District Anti-Mafia Directorate into a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking in South Tyrol.

The operation, called by an Albanian name, "Daku", mainly involved Albanian citizens.

According to reports from Italian media, the operations were carried out by the Bolzano Flying Squad with the support of several investigative agencies in Northern Italy and specialized units, including dog units and crime prevention units.

All of the 10 people who have taken precautionary measures in prison are residents of the province of Bolzano, while 8 of them are under house arrest and the 10 obligations to stay in their homes also affected other provinces, including Barletta-Andria-Trani, Brescia, Monza Brianza, Pordenone and Sondrio./ CNA
