Convicted in Italy for drug trafficking/ "Dangerous" arrested in Tirana

The State Police has finalized the 90th phase of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja", in the context of the crackdown on internationally wanted persons.

During this operation, Ylli Misku, 51 years old, who had been declared wanted by Interpol Rome, was arrested in Tirana.

According to authorities, Ylli Misku was sentenced by the Court of Appeal in Bologna, Italy, in July 2022, to 5 years, 11 months and 14 days in prison for the criminal offenses of "drug trafficking", committed in collaboration, and "theft in aggravating circumstances".

The operation was carried out by the Special Operations Force structures in cooperation with the State Police, after providing information about his location.

The 51-year-old's arrest was carried out with the aim of extradition to Italy, where he will serve the sentence imposed by the Italian authorities./ CNA
