Road safety checks/ 1425 drivers fined in Shkodra

The Shkodra Traffic Police has conducted control actions on road axes, with the aim of preventing accidents and guaranteeing road safety.

The axes are continuously monitored, with modern logistics equipment, logged and unlogged, with the aim of managing traffic and identifying violations that are a source of accidents or that become obstacles to traffic.  

Over the last 10 days, 4 drivers have been arrested and 10 others have been criminally prosecuted for the criminal offenses of "Irregular driving" and "Violation of traffic rules". A total of 1425 administrative measures have been imposed for various violations of the Road Code, specifically:

88 measures for not wearing a seat belt

48 measures for not wearing a protective helmet

36 measures for using a mobile phone while driving

22 measures for driving under the influence of alcohol

28 measures for tinted windows

230 measures for wrong overtaking

627 measures for stopping or wrongful behavior

260 measures for other violations of the Traffic Code

86 measures for the behavior of vehicle drivers towards pedestrians

Checks by the Traffic Police will continue on all urban, interurban and rural road axes, using all modern logistical means, with the aim of meeting road safety parameters.    

The Shkodra Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to strictly enforce traffic rules, not to overtake incorrectly, not to use a cell phone while driving, and not to drive under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated./CNA
