Another tragic event has shaken the city of Bilisht, where 66-year-old Teuta Kaso was found dead in her apartment. Just a few months earlier, she had lost her son, Rigels Kaso, who was killed after a violent conflict in Tirana.

According to police sources, it is suspected that the 66-year-old committed suicide, psychologically burdened by the pain of losing her son.

It was the other son of the family who tried several times to contact the mother, but after receiving no response, he called relatives and neighbors to check the apartment. After the door was found locked from the inside, the police were notified, who intervened by forcing it open. In one of the rooms, they found the lifeless body of the 66-year-old.

The deceased's neighbors have indicated that Teuta Kaso was in a serious mental state after the death of her son. She lived alone and was often seen closed in on herself. Her tragedy began on July 15, 2024, when Rigels Kaso was severely raped in Kashar by 34-year-old Bajram Gjeleshi, losing her life after 4 days in a coma, in the Trauma Hospital.

According to the police, Teuta Kaso had also lost her husband years ago, and the loss of her son was the final blow for her. The forensic examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death, while the materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for evaluation. This event has shocked not only the family, but also the Bilisht community, leaving behind pain and questions about the double drama that involved the Kaso family./CNA
