The Traffic Police continues intensive checks on all interurban roads and in residential centers, to identify and punish violators of the Traffic Code, with the aim of preventing road accidents and increasing road safety parameters.

During the last week: 30 citizens arrested/proceeded for criminal offenses contained in the Criminal Road Code, 22 driving licenses suspended and 14,985 administrative measures for violations of the Road Code.

The intensification of police checks using drones, radars, and cameras over the past week has led to the arrest of 14 drivers, of whom 11 were for drunk driving, 2 for driving without a license, and 1 was detained after being wanted for the criminal offense of "Irregular Driving".

Also, during the last week, 16 citizens were prosecuted for violating traffic rules and active corruption against police officers.

Also, 22 driving licenses were suspended, 21 vehicles were impounded, and 14,985 administrative measures were imposed for various violations of the Road Code.

The Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to respect road traffic rules, and invites citizens to report any illegality to the emergency number 112. /CNA
