Gunfire conflict in Tirana/ 8 citizens arrested for failing to report crime

The police identified the citizen who struck a 40-year-old man with the butt of a firearm during a conflict in a bar, for weak motives, and are working intensively to capture him.

Investigations suspect that the 51-year-old fired a single shot at the scene, but no citizens were injured by the shooting.

8 citizens involved in the conflict are in custody, including a 40-year-old man who was slightly injured.

A firearm, a pistol, was found at the scene and seized along with the arrested persons' cell phones and other evidence that will serve the investigation.

Immediately after the notification of a conflict between several citizens, in a bar on "Sami Frashëri" street, the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, in cooperation with the services of the Serious Crimes Investigation Section, went to the scene, with the aim of identifying and apprehending those responsible.

As a result of professional and rapid investigative actions, the dynamics of the case were clarified, as well as:

- citizen A. Sh., 51 years old, resident of Fier, was identified and declared wanted, as it is suspected that during the conflict, for weak motives, he hit citizen KS(P.), 40 years old, with the butt of a firearm, who was slightly injured. It also resulted that the 51-year-old shot once, with this firearm, at the scene, but no citizen was injured by the shot. The work to capture this citizen continues intensively;

-8 citizens involved in the conflict were identified and arrested: KS (P.), 40 years old, EA, 43 years old, ER, 39 years old, BT, 24 years old, ET, 35 years old, DT, 30 years old, ES, 47 years old and KS, 53 years old, charged with the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action./CNA
