Fraudulent employment contracts/ 41-year-old man from Kosovo arrested

A 41-year-old man was arrested and handcuffed after 3 months of investigation into reports from several citizens for fraud. The action was carried out as the finalization of the police operation codenamed "Promise".   

The 41-year-old was demanding 1,000-1,500 euros, after offering work contracts in various countries through fraud.

3 cases of fraudulently obtaining sums of money were documented during the month of April. 

As a result of the investigations conducted over 3 months by specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, on reports made by several citizens for fraud with employment contracts, the police operation codenamed "Promise" has been finalized. As a result of the operation, the Kosovar citizen was arrested:   

 HB, 41 years old, resident of Kosovo.  

The investigation revealed that the 41-year-old was promising work contracts in various countries, in exchange for a payment ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 euros, through fraud. During April 2025, this citizen, through this method of fraud, took money from 3 citizens.

Investigations are ongoing to document other cases of fraud by this citizen and to identify citizens with whom he may have collaborated.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
