They hid firearms for criminal groups/ The 20-year-old in Memaliaj is identified

Proactive investigations to identify, capture and arrest citizens, members of criminal groups who possess firearms, have been conducted in Memaliaj.

After a two-month investigation using proactive methods, the Police crack a case of hiding firearms on behalf of criminal groups. 

During the operation codenamed "Prevention", 2 Kalashnikov firearms were found hidden in an apartment and seized.   

A 20-year-old man suspected of hiding firearms in the apartment of an elderly citizen with mental health problems on behalf of a criminal group has been identified and is wanted.

The firearms will be sent to the Institute of Scientific Police for expertise, if they were used in criminal events.

In continuation of the work to identify and crack down on the criminal activity of illegal possession of weapons, based on information provided by intelligence, regarding a citizen who had hidden 2 firearms in an apartment, the services of the Memaliaj Police Station, in cooperation with the services of the Gjirokastër Police Department, carried out investigative and operational actions to find the weapons and identify the possessor.    

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, investigations into the case and the identification of other citizens involved continue.  

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further investigative actions, for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" ./ CNA
