The Durrës police arrested the 41-year-old man with the initials AM, after valuable jewelry, euros and cocaine were found in his van.

The 41-year-old man was arrested by the police at the second line of the customs point of the port of Durres while traveling from Italy to Durres, after smuggling valuables.

During the search of the van, the police seized gold jewelry (177 rings, pendants, watches), 1900 euros and a small amount of cocaine.

Port Durrës/Another case of attempted smuggling of valuables in Albania has been discovered.

The coded police operation "Jewelry", developed by the Border Police of the Port of Durrës and the Sector for the Investigation of Economic Crimes in the Local Directorate of the Durrës Police, in cooperation with the customs authorities of the Port, is finalized.

The operation, following successive operations carried out by the Border Police and that of the district, for the prevention and suppression of attempts to traffic weapons and narcotics, the introduction of large sums of money, without declaring them, of oil and other contraband goods.

A quantity of gold jewelry (177 rings, pendants, watches), 1,900 euros and a small quantity of the narcotic cocaine was seized. The driver of the van where jewelry, euros and doses of cocaine were found was arrested.

The Border Police of the Port of Durrës, following successive operations to combat cross-border crimes, as a result of the intensification of controls, risk analysis and police intelligence, in cooperation with the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the DVP Durrës and the customs authorities of Port, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Jewelry".

As part of the operation, a van driven by citizen AM, 41 years old, resident in Tirana, who was traveling from Italy to Durrës, was passed for detailed control, in the second line.

During the detailed inspection, the Police found 1900 euros and gold jewelry hidden in the van, which were seized as material evidence.

At the end of the first investigative actions carried out by the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the DVP Durrës, the citizen AM was arrested in flagrante delicto and the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Durrës, for actions further.
