He was accused of abuse of tenders/ GJKKO acquits the former mayor of Pogradec

GJKKO today declared the former mayor of Pogradec, Eduart Kapri, innocent, who was accused of abusing the wood tender.

The Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime raised allegations that the former mayor of Pogradec and 5 former employees of this municipality had committed equality violations in tenders.

Eduart Kapri was accused of committing the criminal offenses "Violation of the equality of participants in public tenders or auctions" in cooperation and "Abuse of duty" in cooperation.

According to SPAK, "the first criminal fact is related to the procurement procedure 'Open Procedure' with object: 'Purchase of firewood', with a limit fund of 9,268,000 ALL (without VAT), developed on 27.10.2017, by the authority contractor, Pogradec Municipality" .

While "the second criminal fact is related to the event dated 28.06.2019, where the citizens Gurali and Safet Blaceri were arrested in the act, putting padlocks with keys in the outer circle of three schools and a kindergarten, these institutions located in neighborhoods no. .2 and 5 of the city of Pogradec, which were approved as polling centers by the Central Election Commission for the local elections of 30.06.2019" .

However, today GJKKO acquitted Eduart Kapri and 5 former employees of the municipality of Pogradec of the wood tender charges. On the other hand, the trial continues on the charge of attempting to obstruct the local elections on June 30, 2019. / CNA.al
