Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that once the election results are certified by the CEC, the goal is to constitute the Assembly and form the government of the Republic as soon as possible. In an interview with the media, Kurti said that the most important decision at the government meeting will be the approval of the budget for 2026.

"As soon as the results are certified by the Central Electoral Commission, we are interested in the Assembly of the tenth legislature being constituted as soon as possible, with the presidency of the assembly, and the government of the Republic being formed, where the most important decision from the beginning is the budget for 2026. There are several other decisions for the first meeting, but of course the most important is the budget," he said.

He also spoke about the composition of the government cabinet, saying that no major changes are expected. But he added that there will be new consultations within the Vetëvendosje Movement and with coalition partners.

"I can't say that there will be big changes, there won't be big changes, but I can't say that it will be identical either. First, we have to wait for the election results and now you have to take into account that citizens make two types of choices: first they choose the political entity, then they choose the candidates within the political entity, and there are changes there. We have deputies who were elected for the first time, we have deputies who were confirmed even more strongly, we have those who have been somewhat stuck. We have to take everything into consideration before making the final decision and we are a large team. So the issue is not only the ranking in the hierarchy, whether it is within the Vetëvendosje Movement or outside it, how many votes did someone get among the people, but who, where, for what, when, are also very important. That is, we have to see ourselves individually in the function of the team that we are building, which is a combination of the majority in the Assembly with the government cabinet," Kurti said. /CNA
