Over 35,000 families in Berlin without electricity after arson attack/ Far-left

More than 35,000 households in southwest Berlin have been without electricity since yesterday. Police attributed the outage to arson at a distribution station, while the far-left organization claimed responsibility for the incident earlier today.

Last May, the group claimed responsibility for a similar attack on a radio transmission substation in an upscale Berlin suburb, claiming that society could no longer afford the wealthy and that these expensive housing complexes should be expropriated.

The extremely low temperatures are making things even more difficult for thousands of residents of the German capital, as well as for many hospitals, nursing homes, schools and day care centers. /CNA
