Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it would be "suicidal" for Europe if it offered concessions to Kremin to stop the invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking at a summit of European leaders in Hungary, Zelensky criticized those calling on Ukraine to meet some of Russian President Vladimir Putin's demands and called on Europe and the United States not to weaken relations after the election. Donald Trump, president of the USA.

"There have been many voices regarding the need to submit to Putin, to withdraw, to make some concessions... This is unacceptable for Ukraine and suicidal for all of Europe," said Zelensky.

The host of the summit is Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has repeatedly opposed Western support for Kiev.

Zelensky also urged Europe to maintain the strong relations it has with the US, following Trump's victory in the November 5 presidential election.

Trump has repeatedly criticized US aid to Ukraine and has declared that he will end the war - which Russia launched against Ukraine in 2022 - within hours of taking office./REL
