The first speech after the defeat / Harris: We have to accept the results of the elections

Kamala Harris gave her first speech after losing the election, at Howard University in Washington DC.

Harris said the election result should be accepted.

"I know that people are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now. I understand, but we have to accept the results of this election," she said, while confirming that she spoke with the newly elected President Donald Trump and congratulated him on his victory.

"I congratulated Donald Trump on his victory, we have sworn for a peaceful transition of power," continued Harris.

In addition, the democratic candidate also gave a message to her supporters, whom she asked to remain optimistic.

"Don't despair. It's not time to throw up your hands, it's time to roll up your sleeves.

It's time to organize, mobilize and stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future we all know we can build together," Harris said./ CNA
