Kamala Harris will not speak to her supporters in Washington, DC, as previously planned.

Harris campaign co-chairman Cedric Richmond briefly addressed the crowd at Howard University in the early hours of Wednesday morning, informing them that Harris would be addressing voters at the university on Wednesday. It was not made clear when exactly that would happen.

Despite the bleak outlook for Democrats at that point in the night, Richmond told the Howard crowd that "there were still votes to be counted."

"We still have states that haven't been counted yet," Richmond added. "We will continue into the night to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice is spoken."

Before Richmond could speak and inform the crowd that Harris would not be speaking as originally planned, videos began circulating online showing people leaving the venue as the race's momentum appeared to be shifting in the Republican's favor./ CNA
