Zelensky will present the "victory plan" to the allies

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, will present Kiev's "victory plan" during the next meeting with the Western allies, which will be held in Germany.

"We will present the victory plan, clear and specific steps for the just end of the war," Zelensky wrote on social media on October 5, referring to the invasion of Ukraine that Russia launched in February 2022.

The 25th meeting of more than 50 allies and partners, known as the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, will be held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on October 12.

Referring to the strategy as "peace through strength", Zelensky said that "the victory plan foresees the necessary strengthening of Ukraine".

The Ukrainian president said that Kiev has already started discussions with the United States, Ukraine's main supporter during the war, and added that "we will involve all partners".

Zelensky started mentioning Ukraine's "peace plan" in August and then announced that it was almost ready and contained "four key points and one that should be implemented after the war".

During a visit to Washington last month, he presented the plan to US President Joe Biden, as well as two candidates for the November 5 presidential election: Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and former Republican President Donald Trump.

A spokesman for the US State Department said at the time that the plan contained "a number of productive steps".

Very little is known about the plan. The Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous US officials, reported that they said the plan is essentially a renewed demand for more weapons and demands that countries that have given Kiev long-range weapons allow Ukraine to use them to attack deep inside Russian territory.

During the meeting of Ukraine's allies in Germany, Zelensky is expected to meet with Biden./ REL
