VIDEO/ Catches fire and falls on a building, the dramatic footage of the helicopter crash in Florida

Two people in Florida died after the helicopter they were traveling in crashed into a building.

Dramatic footage shows the moment the plane crashed into a building after suffering a mid-air malfunction, leaving a hole in its roof.

The crash happened in Pompano Beach, Florida. The video which is circulating widely in the media shows the survivors climbing to safety.

Police confirmed that three people were on board the helicopter when it crashed and that two of them were taken to Broward Health for treatment.

Officials said that the people transported to the hospital were not seriously injured.

One of the helicopter's crew members, a paramedic, was killed in the crash. He has been identified as Captain Terryson Jackson.

The civilian who was killed has been confirmed to be a woman, but her name has not yet been released.

Fire crews went to the scene to help fight the flames and rescue the occupants of the apartment and the helicopter.

Investigators are still determining what may have caused the accident./ CNA
