UNICEF: Gaza's children will need aid

Rosalia Bollen, a spokeswoman for the UN children's agency, UNICEF, said the challenges are extraordinary in terms of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

"And when it comes to saving the lives of children in Gaza amid the total deprivation they have faced, a ceasefire in itself will not remove that suffering," Bollen told Al Jazeera.

Underlining the difficult and traumatic situations that these minors have been going through for about 15 months of fighting, she stated that some of the aid that children in Gaza need is not aid that can be brought in by truck.

"Every single child in Gaza today is deeply, deeply wounded and traumatized by what they have seen. They have gone through things that no child should ever have to witness," Bollen said./ CNA
