Estonian Foreign Minister Calls for TikTok to Be Banned in Europe

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia,

After TikTok was banned in the US, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Cakna has called for a review of banning this social network in Europe.

In a post on the "X" platform, the Estonian minister writes that TikTok has spread disinformation and serves as a manipulative platform during the election campaign.

 "In addition, its massive data collection is known to pose a serious security risk. Banning TikTok should also be considered in Europe."

The TikTok app suspended operations for users in the US before the ban on the social network in America took effect today.

However, TikTok hopes that this suspension will be temporary and that the use of the app will be restored with the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
