Trump: Tehran has accepted most of the US 15-point plan

United States President Donald Trump has stated that Iran has agreed to most of the 15-point list of demands that the US conveyed, through Pakistan, to end the war.

Asked if Iran had responded to those points, the president told reporters aboard Air Force One: "They're agreeing with us on the plan. We asked for 15 things and we're going to ask for a few more things."

Tehran did not immediately accept the 15-point plan last week. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi earlier said that messages had been exchanged through intermediaries, but expressed skepticism about Washington's stance.

Trump also said that Iran has given the US the oil that will be shipped tomorrow to prove that they are serious about talks.

"Today they gave us another gift. They gave us 20 oil tankers that start shipping tomorrow. We're having very good meetings, both directly and indirectly, and I think we're getting a lot of very important points," Trump said.

As foreign media have previously reported, the 15-point plan allegedly includes Iran's commitment not to have nuclear weapons, the surrender of highly enriched uranium, limitations on Tehran's defense capabilities, the end of regional proxy groups, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.  /CNA
