Trump: Plan ready to end war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump and his administration have a plan ready that is expected to end the war in Ukraine.

Trump aims to present a long-awaited plan to end Russia's war on Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference in Germany next week.

The proposal will be submitted to the February 14-16 conference in the Bavarian city a week before Russia's war reaches the three-year mark.

The project will be presented to allies by Trump's special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.

Elements of the plan include potentially freezing the conflict and leaving the territory occupied by Russian forces in limbo, while providing Ukraine with security guarantees to ensure that Moscow cannot attack again.

Later in February, Kellogg is expected to make his first trip to Kiev and the European Union on the issue. In Ukraine, he is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian leader is planning to travel to several countries in the Gulf region after the Munich conference. /CNA
