Storm 'Claudia' hits Portugal/ 2 deaths, 918 incidents and fallen

Storm 'Claudia' brought torrential rains, flooding, downed trees and widespread power outages across Portugal

The Civil Protection Authority reported 918 incidents, of which 594 were floods and 140 were fallen trees.

Lisbon and the Tagus Valley were hit hardest, as streets were filled with water and mud.

Around 20,000 residents were left without electricity in Lisbon, Santarem and Setubal, with repairs still ongoing.

The rough sea forced the closure of 14 seaports, while heavy rain warnings were also issued in Portalegre, Evora and Beja. /CNA
