Situation at the Louvre Museum/ French unions call for a permanent strike

After the burglary in October and the water leak in November, the Louvre Museum is facing a new front: workers are calling for a permanent strike from Monday, December 15.

The museum's unions called for a continued strike, in protest against deteriorating working conditions and insufficient provision of resources, as reported by the French News Agency.

The announcement, sent to the French Ministry of Culture, was unanimously approved by a general assembly held today in the Louvre amphitheater.

The staff speaks of poor building conditions and a lack of staff, while criticizing the administration under president Laurence de Carre, who has run the museum since 2021.

In recent weeks, the world's most famous museum has faced a series of serious incidents. /CNA
