White House: Trump disagrees with recognizing Palestine as a state

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt was responding to a question about the coordinated move by the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia on Sunday to formally recognize the statehood of Palestine before the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.

"Regarding all these Western countries that are recognizing a Palestinian state, the president has been very clear - the president does not agree with this decision," Leavitt responds.

He spoke about this in the United Kingdom, alongside his friend, Prime Minister Starmer.

"He thinks this does nothing to free the hostages - which is the main goal in Gaza - it does nothing to end this conflict and bring this war to an end and frankly he believes it is a reward for Hamas. He believes these decisions are more words and not enough actions from our allies."/ CNA
