Pope Leo XIV today expressed the solidarity of the Roman Catholic Church with the Palestinian population of Gaza and declared that there is no future based on violence, forced exile, or revenge.
The Pope shared his stance at the end of Sunday's prayer in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican.
"I repeat: there is no future based on violence, forced exile, revenge. Peoples need peace," the Pope said, to applause from the faithful.
The Pope delivered this message while addressing representatives of Catholic associations gathered in St. Peter's Square behind a banner reading "Peace for Gaza."
The Pope welcomed initiatives, throughout the Church, that express solidarity with our brothers and sisters suffering in Gaza./CNA
