The head of USAid, accusations to Putin/ The decision on the wheat agreement,

USAid chief Samantha Power has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of making a "life-and-death decision" affecting millions of the world's poorest people by pulling out of a year-old UN-brokered deal that allowed Ukraine to export grain through the Black Sea.

Power pledged another $250 million to create alternative routes for Ukrainian grain to leave the country, but admitted that nothing would compensate for the loss of Black Sea ports.

Her visit came after Russia carried out a series of missile and drone strikes in southern and eastern Ukraine overnight. Most of the missiles fell, but falling debris damaged some of the infrastructure in the port of Odesa.

Russia had vowed to retaliate after an explosion on a bridge linking Russia to the Crimean peninsula on Monday. 

Moscow accused Ukraine of attacking the Kerch bridge, which is used to transport military supplies to Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014./ CNA.al
