High temperatures / Massive fires in Greece

Greek media reports that the Greek city of Dervenochoria has been engulfed in massive flames due to high temperatures, which have invaded the country and all of Europe.

Greek authorities have landed on the ground to try to put out the flames.

According to reports, 140 firefighters, 48 ??vehicles, 6 planes and a helicopter are fighting the flames and pouring water continuously on the fire lying in Dervenochoria.

Greek authorities declare that Dervenochoria currently has no settlements in danger, but the air is very heavy and poisoned by the smoke that has covered the area.

The fire has not progressed much overnight as the firefighting forces have intervened effectively despite the fact that so far wooded areas have been burned, but no other damage has been reported./ CNA
