US approves new aid package/ 1.85 billion dollars for Ukraine

The administration of the American president, Joe Biden, announced on December 21 that it will provide military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 1.85 billion dollars.

Patriot missiles are also included in this aid package.

The announcement comes hours before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrives in Washington on his first visit to the US since Russia launched its invasion of his country on February 24.

The package includes weapons and equipment from the Pentagon's stocks, worth $1 billion, including Patriot missiles. Also, 850 million of this aid package will be received from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
