Sanchez: Spain is on Serbia's side when it comes to Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in a joint press conference after meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez that Madrid supports Serbia on its path to the EU without additional conditions.

He thanked the Spanish government for respecting the territorial integrity of Serbia, writes Euronews Serbia.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez emphasized that Spain supports Serbia when it comes to Kosovo, that it will always be discussed, but that, without any doubt, territorial integrity must always be respected.

Vu?i?, for his part, said that he is proud and happy that for the first time in Serbian history he can host the head of the Spanish government in Serbia.

"It was a privilege, pleasure and honor to speak with Mr. Sanchez today," said the president of Serbia and emphasized: "Serbia considers and perceives Spain as a sincere friend, as one of the greatest friends in the world. Recently, we have significantly increased our trade exchange, which last year was 811 million euros, while this year in the first five months it has increased by 64.1 percent".

Spain is among the five EU countries that do not recognize Kosovo's independence. /CNA.al
