Poland increases its arsenal of weapons

Because of the war in Ukraine, Poland is arming itself. Recent deals with South Korea include hundreds of fighter jets, tanks and artillery pieces.

Poland's Defense Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced that he has signed the arms purchase agreements because Poland has learned lessons from Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. "Time is short and we must equip the Polish army." he said.

Sipas marrëveshjeve Polonia do të marrë rreth një mijë tanke, rreth 650 topa dhe mortaja dhe 48 avionë luftarakë. Dymbëdhjetë avionët e parë luftarakë të tipit FA-50  planifikohet të mbërrijnë në Poloni në vitin 2023 dhe do të zëvendësojnë avionët e vjetër të prodhimit sovjetik. Koncerni koreano-verior i armatimeve, Korea Aerospace Industries, njoftoi se do ta zhvendoste gradualisht prodhimin e avionëve luftarakë FA-50 në Poloni.
