The US Treasury Department on Friday imposed sanctions on two Russian individuals and four entities it accuses of supporting the Kremlin's global malign influence and election interference operations, including in the United States and Ukraine.

"The individuals and entities designated today played various roles in Russia's efforts to manipulate and destabilize the United States and its allies and partners, including Ukraine," the Treasury Department said in a statement.

Departamenti emëroi individët si rusët Aleksandr Viktorovich Ionov dhe Natalya Valeryevna Burlinova dhe entitetet si Lëvizja Anti-Globalizuese e Rusisë (AGMR), Ionov Transkontinental, STOP-Imperializmi dhe Qendra për Mbështetjen dhe Zhvillimin e Diplomacisë Krijuese të Nismës Publike (PICREADI).

Departamenti i Thesarit akuzoi Aleksandr Viktorovich Ionovin si një "bashkëpunëtor" të FSB-së, duke thënë se ai ishte koordinuar me agjencinë ruse të inteligjencës që të paktën në verën e vitit 2020 për të identifikuar "pikat socialo-politike të konflikteve brenda Shteteve të Bashkuara".

“Ai ofroi mbështetje, zakonisht në formën e donacioneve monetare, për organizatat që ai dhe shërbimet e inteligjencës ruse besonin se do të krijonin shqetësime social-politike në Shtetet e Bashkuara”, tha Departamenti i Thesarit.

The Russian Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment on the US sanctions, which freeze the property and interests of individuals and organizations that are under US jurisdiction.VOA
