"Evidence based on hearsay proves nothing"/ Veseli's lawyer: ZPS

On the last day of the trial in The Hague, Kadri Veseli's lawyer, Rodney Dixon, stated that the defense is not playing games, but is requesting the testing of evidence in court.

Attorney Dixon stated that what is playing games is the ZPS, as it usually does.

Dixon said the defense has addressed the machinations of rumor-gathering by the ZPS regarding direct impacts.

Further, Veseli's lawyer stated that there are 15 pages in the defense file stating that evidence based on rumors does not prove anything.

 

" We are not playing, it is testing the evidence in the law. It is the ZPS playing its own games as it usually does. We invited the ZPS to a duel and were waiting for them to counter-argue, but they did not. Halling did not even dare to at least give the wrong law regarding direct intervention. And to this day they do not have their arguments clear because they know they are wrong.

The court, the defense asks you to do your job, to apply the most elementary law. We have addressed the machinations of the ZPS's pile of rumors regarding direct impacts. There are 15 pages in our file where we have said that the evidence based on rumors is a pile of garbage that proves nothing. Veseli's defense has clearly opposed the admission of documents in the case of 3 witnesses.

"In our file we have illustrated an example of lies being treated as evidence in court. Mr. Halling was quick to say that we did not explain how we would treat the witness's testimony. The fact that the witness was not physically present was a detriment to the defense. The SPO did not call anyone else from his area, he could call people about whom the witness makes fabricated claims ," ??the lawyer said.
