Lawyer Misetic: ZPS has no evidence against Thaçi

The defense attorney for former President Hashim Thaçi in The Hague has stated that the SPO has no evidence that Thaçi had anything to do with authorizing political statements and communiqués.

Luka Misetic emphasized that the SPO did not rely on any reference to conclude that Thaçi was involved in the distribution of political communiqués or statements.

"We, as a defense, said that the SPO has no evidence that Mr. Thaçi has anything to do with authorizing the communiqués or political statements."

In fact, the SPO has no other evidence that shows that Thaçi is involved in the preparation of the communiqués.

We said that, the ZPS does not even have any other evidence but did not rely on any kind of second-hand reference that was presented in a manuscript, book or newspaper at that time. Mr. Thaçi was not involved in the preparation and distribution of political statements.

The SPO, again in its counterarguments, could not explain the evidence to prove the connection between Mr. Thaçi and the distribution of the communiqués. What connection does Mr. Thaçi have?

"Instead of giving us an answer, the prosecution gave us some quotes regarding the material data. The SPO chose to provide a list of material evidence instead of providing the testimonies," said Mr. Hashim Thaçi's defense lawyer./ CNA
