The defense attorney of the former president of Kosovo, Luka Misetic, stated in the Special Court that the Specialized Prosecutor's Office (SPO) has no evidence that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) boycotted the interim government due to alleged mistreatment by Hashim Thaçi or any other official.

The defense also emphasized that the LDK had created a parallel government that functioned until 2000 and refused to withdraw. It added that Mr. Thaçi had been inclusive and had made 15 concrete calls to invite LDK representatives to the interim government.

"The ZPS has no evidence that the LDK boycotted the interim government due to alleged mistreatment by Mr. Thaçi or anyone else.

As we said last week, the ZPS does not refer to any evidence from that time and any position of the LDK, and on Monday it did not give us any evidence related to this. On the contrary, you have evidence from that time that the LDK boycotted the interim government because it did not want to equally divide the seats within the interim government.

LDK also had its own parallel government that functioned and refused to withdraw until 2000.

"Mr. Thaçi has been inclusive. We have cited 15 cases where Mr. Thaçi has called on LDK to become part of the government," said Thaçi's defense lawyer./ CNA
